Beginner Ghost Producers Worst Mistakes

beginner ghost producersBeginner ghost producers can make many huge mistakes which can lead into a disaster

Both for the client, both for you. Of course if you are the member of the beginner ghost producers huge community out there.
But which ones are the worst?

We made a list of the common mistakes what makes beginner ghost producers suspicious

  • When the ghost producer talks about his clients.
You should never do this. Never.

  • He uses his previously sold works as a reference.
Rather you asking for reference from a ghost producer or he puts them available on soundcloud (which is even worse), it’s a sign of disrespect with his clients. You shouldn’t belong to this “team”, am I right?

  • When he uses templates.
If you noticed that his references are pretty similar in sound and/or in structure you have chance that he saves some effort when it comes to produce which is not the best producer’s property.

  • He don’t want to send you demos.
As a client, you have the right to hear at least a little snippet from your song to know is it the desired sound or not?! If your ghost producer don’t really want to send you a preview or a demo, you have the chance that he tries to sell you something what collecting dust on his hard drive for a long time.

  • When he makes exactly the same melody what you sent him as a reference.
It’s a good thing when your producer able to copy difficult chord progressions or top melodies, but you have a great chance to be sued. Try to limit your expectations to similarities.

  • If he forces you into a direction you don’t want at all.
Sometimes we met clients who absolutely new to the business and don’t really know what is hot nowadays. Then we try to let the client know about the limitations what he can achieve with the requested style and sound. But you should never force it.

  • +1 If he don’t give you any proof that you bought the track
We know it’s a trust based relationship, but from the clients side a proof is a must have. At least an invoice.
